Flooding issues were persistent in the Kirk Brae area of Shandon. A contractor conducting work on a nearby railway for Network Rail uncovered the reason thought to be behind the flooding problem. Discovering a blocked drainage pipe under an MoD-owned embankment. Once the drainage pipe was unblocked it emerged that the drainage system had collapsed. With this small civil issue highlighted, Amey Defence Services Ltd; one of the Ministry of Defence’s key suppliers enlisted the help of WCC Group to carry out the repair works to the areas of damage. The work WCC Group was able to provide was a tree and scrub clearance, installing gabion baskets and finally repairing the collapsed drainage pipe.
