Our in-house tree specialist Allan, carried out tree survey services for Cameron Lodges inspecting over 200 trees from around the lodges on Loch Lomond to identify the trees on site which require work to be carried out in order to prevent damage to the properties and guests and ensure safe management of trees within Cameron Lodges’ grounds.

In order to identify the trees that require work each tree is individually tagged with a metal tree tag and assigned to a specific lodge. Each tree is inspected and tagged using British Standard Guidelines B2:5837 (2012) and BS:3998 (2010). Which also allows for them to be easily located by our tree services team at a later date. Allan carries out these inspections yearly at varying times throughout the year in order to see the trees with and without foliage to accurately determine the health of the trees or their decline from the previous years tree report. Along with comparisons from year on year information WCC Group work with the client’s grounds staff to identify trees that have had work on them and any trees that are causing concern for the company.

One of the key requirements when assessing risks posed by trees is to evaluate the likelihood of structural tree failure, and understand the mechanical properties of tree roots and stems and their likelihood of failure in high winds. Allan identified the trees which require work to be undertaken from his survey carried out in Autumn and WCC Group’s tree surgeons and chainsaw operators were able to begin work in December 2020. The tree work includes the removal of deadwood, removal of damaged branches and limbs along with any dead trees. WCC Group's team enlisted a MEWP to allow for safe tree removal and limb removal to minimise the risk or injury to the tree surgeon and ground crew associated with the tree surgery.
